Vril: "Effigies in Cork" 2003 ReR Megacorp.
An album of instrumental guitar tunes. The plan was for Lukas Simonis to come up many short melodic fragments and ideas, then the group would arrange them together and record the basic tracks "live" here in the studio, Lukas and I overdubbing the melodies afterward. We had a great time! Frank Key came up with the song titles, the cover and booklet art, and wrote "extensive liner notes"...

NOTE: "Vril" is a word coined by Victorian writer Edward Bulwer-Lytton to descibe "a mysterious life force" in one of his novels (often described as "unreadable...") After the album was released, we learned there was a "Vril Society" in the early 1900s...who among other less savory things, took Bulwer-Lytton's fantasy as literal fact...Our album has nothing to do with this former "society" nor anything connected with it.
