James Grigsby came up with this set of songs which he'd written on guitar, and wanted this particular group of people to play them...and I'm glad he did! We arranged and recorded them here at my studio during a relatively short (5 days) session, the basic trio of drums/bass/rhythm guitar set up together in the same room and recorded "live", giving a solid basis of energy and spontaneity to the album, Jerry's excellent lead vocals topping it off. I overdubbed my usual background vocals and harmonies here and there, sang lead on one song, and added little bits of guitar and other instruments. There's a solo piece from Jerry, a little spontaneous jamming, and in general the whole thing was lots of fun and I think it comes across in the recording.
