For several months during 1982 and/or 1983 our group Rising Snail in Sky played every Wednesday night at the Mercury Cafe in Denver. We kept our songs as basically rough outlines so anything could happen and frequently did. I know this photo is from one of our early gigs because later we always performed wearing home-made masks which became increasingly outrageous and crazy. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of that era and doubt any exist. Anyway, here I am, in my insideout thriftshop dinner jacket, holding it down on the drums. The other regular members of Rising Snail in Sky were Mike Johnson on guitar/keyboard, Mark McCoin on vocals, tapes, percussion and keyboards, John Sheehan on bass, and any guests who felt like joining us.
